The rules for solving a sudoku are quite simple. A sudoku is composed of 81 spaces set in 9 rows and 9 columns, thus forming a (magical) square. This square is in turn divided into 9 smaller 3x3 squares.
According to the level of difficulty, some spaces already contain a number. By using your own logic and deduction, you must figure out how to fill in the remaining spaces. In doing so, you must follow the following rules:
You may only use the numbers from 1 to 9.
The square must be filled in in such a way, that every digit (from 1 to 9) in each row, column and smaller 3x3 square occurs only once.
We find it simply brilliant - but not necessarily brilliantly simple!
From the thinking beginner to the super-brain ...
... we have a suitable sudoku puzzle for all.
In order for beginners not to give up and for pros not to get bored, we have created three levels of difficulty. These are Sudoku light, intermediate and champion. Depending on the level of difficulty, you will find 48, 36 or only 24 of a total of 81 numbers already given. The more numbers are already known, the easier it is to solve the sudoku number-puzzle.
Our scoring system
As a registered member, you gather points and show how good you are. Depending on the difficulty level of the solved puzzle, you get one, two or three points:
Sudoku Light: 1 point per correct number
Sudoku Intermediate: 2 points per correct number
Sudoku Champion: 3 points per correct number
Numbers appearing at the beginning of the game do not count towards the final score.
If you get a hint, not only do you not get any points for the freebie, you even get a little demerit: for each number which you didn't find out on your own, you lose
3 point in Sudoku Light;
6 points in Sudoku Intermediate;
9 points in Sudoku Champion.
The best players will be shown on our page with the score. You can also gather points for your country. The total scores of the players of a single country will be added together in order to determine the most "intelligent" country.
